The last time we went to Hawaii, we took the Norwegian cruise on Pride of America. This has been our only cruise on Norwegian and we would definitely take another Norwegian cruise. We went in December, the week before Christmas so the ship was very beautifully decorated. Being from Ohio, it was a little weird to hear Christmas music and see Christmas decorations when we were in 80 degree weather surrounded by palm trees. But we were not complaining! Lol!
The ship was not huge like some of the mega ships but it was not small either. We found the food to be comparable to other cruise lines and we really liked that you could eat whenever you wanted without having to have a reservation every night. There were also fun classes like lei making and cooking some traditional Hawaiian dishes.
If you’ve never been to Hawaii and just want a brief overview of the islands, then the Norwegian Pride of America cruise is the way to do that. If you want more time on each island to immerse yourself in the culture, then we recommend spending a few days to a week on each island. Either way, hey, you’re in Hawaii so life is good, right?
